Emir Gilson

I am a game developer that recently graduated from the University of West London's Computer Games Technology Faculty with a First class honours. The programme followed all aspects of gaming from designing levels to programming AI, game mechanics and theory involving AI.

Jealousy

3D Action game

This is a game created for my final year project dissertation. The topic was about whether loot boxes are important to the successfulness of a game. The result by and large was that loot boxes do have an importance within a game. The character designs are not made by me but are free assets from the unreal engine 4. The map is the default map for unreal engine 4.

Revenge of the commoner

3D Action game

This project was one of the first that I had to accomplish at my time at university. The topic was whatever I wanted and I decided to do 3D fighting game. The steps taken to accomplish this game was to do a one pager, then creating the artefact followed by doing a ten pager to finish the project. These character designs are not made by me but are free assests from the unreal engine 4. The map is the default map for unreal engine 4.

Dying Moments

3D survival game

This is a new game that I am working on which is still in progress. I have been working on it after university had ended to practice C++ programming for games as most games I made were with blueprints and so this game gave me an insight of how C++ programming works in games and kick start my understanding of it.

AI Logbook

During the time I spent doing AI, a broad spectrum of AI topics where being taught which gave an understanding of all the fundamentals of AI. For example, learning how AI does A* searching path to go from where they are at that moment to the end goal.

Gaming is not only about the programming aspect but also graphics and so graphics is also something that I have learnt to use Maya to develop some graphics and so improving my ability to use Maya to come up with design for projects. By the end, all of the individual components of the work came together to make a full design that can by used.

Machine learning

Machine learning was very programming heavy and and focused on improve programming skills by practicing using the python programming language to complete tasks provided. for example, tasks including calculating misclassified data point within a set of points when using perceptron algorithm.

Programming the graphics was also something that I have experienced doing while at my time in university where one of my projects where to programme a robot arm to move like a human with restrictions in rotations like a human arm would
